Can I upgrade my Three Pay As You Go to a monthly contract?
Yes! when you are ready to make the step to a monthly contract Three make it easy to keep your existing phone number, and even allow you to use your credit against your phone bill. You don’t need to request a PAC code, just fill in a simple form online.
What if I just want the phone?
When you buy a phone from the official Three store you have to select a data Add-on as well, but you don’t have to keep paying for them. All 3 PAYG phones are unlocked, so if you want to use it with another contract or even another network once your Add-on expires there is nothing to stop you.
Should I choose PAYG or 30 Day SIMO?
Pay As You Go SIM Only deals are convenient and easy to manage. PAYGO and short 30 day rolling contracts have a lot in common. They are both great for not getting tied down, but there are some key differences.
Pay As You Go is perfect if you don’t know how much you are going to use your phone in any given month. As long as you continue to use your phone you get access to all the Three Perks like free WiFi on the Underground.
1 Month SIMO is great if you plan to use your phone consistently for a number of months, but perhaps not enough to commit to a 12 or 24 month contract. Generally these contracts receive more texts, calls and data than similarly priced PAYGO deals.
Why do Pay As You Go SIMs have an upfront cost?
When you get a Pay As You Go SIM you can use it as much or as little as you like with the simple payment structure. However, it is often more cost effective to purchase a 30 day bundle which includes data, texts and minutes for a single affordable cost. You are not tied into these bundles and you can cancel any time you like, or just purchase one when you think you will need it.
What is the difference between PAYG handset and SIM deals?
Except for the obvious (phone deals come with a phone!), all Three PAYG deals come with the same fair and flexible tariffs and a choice of bundles to enrich your plan with an allowance of texts, minutes and data.
How do I top up my PAYG SIM credit?
The easiest way to top up your credit is simply to log into your My3 account online. You can also the the 3 aopp or purchase credit from post offices and other high street stores.
Can I tether to my laptop or tablet?
Yes, you can tether to any device and use your full allowance . You can only tether Pay As You Go plans in the UK or a European destination on the Go Roam list. You can’t tether PAYG outside of Europe.
Will my SIM stop working if I don’t use it?
If you don’t use your SIM for too long it will be deactivated but don’t worry, it is very easy to keep your PAYG plan active. You just need to top-up your SIM card or make a call or other chargeable action at least once every six months.
5G Coverage
3 is one of the few networks to offer 5G on PAYG at no extra cost. You just need a 5G ready smartphone in an area that has 5G enabled. Three are launching super fast data access in new areas every month so if 5G hasn’t reached your area you probably won’t have to wait for long.
Do PAYG customers get Go Roam?
If you have a PAYG sim then you can you can get the benefit of Go Roam if you have an active Addon bundle.
Do I get Go Binge on Pay As You Go?
Go Binge allows you to stream Apple Music, Netflix, Snapchat, Deezer and more without using your data allowance.
Go Binge is not included with Pay As You Go plans, but you can upgrade to a 1, 12 or 24 month SIM contracts at any time. All Pay Monthly plan with 12GB of data include Go Binge as standard.
